Dosage and Administration:

Ovarian Cancer:

  • For previously untreated patients with carcinoma of ovary, 1 of the following recommended regimens may be given every 3 weeks
  • Paclitaxel 175mg/m2 administered IV over 3 hrs followed by Cisplatin 75mg/m2
  • Paclitaxel 135mg/m2 administered IV over 24 hours followed by Cisplatin 75mg/m2
  • In patients previously treated with chemotherapy for carcinoma of the ovary, recommended regimen is paclitaxel 135-175 mg/m2 administered IV over 3 hours every 3 weeks.

Breast Cancer:

  • For The adjuvant-treatment of node-positive Breast Cancer, the recommended regimen is paclitaxel 175mg/m2 IV over 3 hours every 3 weeks for 4 courses administered sequentially to doxorubicin-containing combination chemotherapy
  • After failure of initial chemotherapy for metastatic disease or relapse within 6 months of adjuvant chemotherapy, paclitaxel 175mg/m2 administered IV over 3 hours every 3 weeks.

NSCLC:

  • Given every 3 weeks, Paclitaxel 315 mg/m2 is administered IV over 24 hrs followed by Cisplatin 75 mg/m2

AIDS-related Kaposi Sarcoma:

  • Paclitaxel 135 mg/m2 given IV over 3 hours every 2 weeks is recommended (dose intensity 45-50 mg /m2 /week).
  • Paclitec to patients with AIDS-related Kaposi sarcoma if the base count or subsequent neutrophil count is less than 1,000 cells /mm3, 2- Reduce the dose of Dexamethasone (as 1 of the 3 premedication drugs) to 10mg orally (instead of 20 mg orally)
